Insurance Coverage and Dental Treatment
At Children’s Dental Center, we aim to help you maximize your insurance benefits, and as a courtesy to your family, we will file insurance claims for you. If your child needs dental treatment beyond their regular dental check-up and cleaning, a treatment plan will be reviewed on the day of their appointment that will offer a breakdown of applicable fees. Please keep in mind, this treatment plan is an estimate of what insurance will pay towards the treatment; this is not a guarantee. While our goal is to offer the most precise estimation of treatment needed, dental treatment is subject to change on the day of the appointment based on a more in-depth clinical examination as well as what is in the best interest of your child. If treatment changes or if your insurance fails to pay as we anticipate, the responsible party will be charged on the day of the appointment for any cost that exceeds the estimated portion. Due to the wide ranges in benefits that pertain to the numerous insurance plans, we highly encourage you to refer to your insurance company’s benefits guide for specific coverage and frequencies and to ensure your child’s provider is in-network with your plan. If you would like a treatment plan for your child’s routine dental cleaning, they are available upon request.
We accept cash, checks, Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, and we also offer financing through CareCredit.
Office Guidelines
The following office guidelines have been developed to answer some of your questions about dental insurance:
- You child’s dental treatment is based upon your child’s dental health care needs and the professional judgment of our doctors. Treatment recommendations are not based on whether specific procedures are covered or not by insurance. You will always be presented with the treatment plan that best addresses your child’s dental health care needs.
- As a courtesy to you, our staff will complete and send all your insurance claims forms. If you receive any forms, please pass them on to our staff.
- Your co-payment (or out of pocket expenses) will be estimated in advance of treatment. This co-payment represents our best estimate of the difference between your plan’s coverage and our charges for your child’s dental treatment.
- Once treatment is complete and all insurance payments are received, we will reconcile your account. Any overpayments by you will be refunded to you; any underpayment is your obligation.
- If you ever need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we need a 24 hours notice. If your child wakes up sick, please call us as soon as you know that they are not available to come in.
- Please try to be on time for your appointments, if you are running late please call us so that we can plan accordingly.
- If you are unable to make your appointment, always call us. Do not just break the appointment without prior notice, as this will constitute as a failed appointment. After three failed appointments, you may be dismissed from the practice.
- Payment is due upon procedure. If your child is coming alone or without their guardian, please send them with a form of payment.
